Relaunching Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers in Mauritius

A group of South African media, business people, celebrities, and Club Med ambassadors joined Club Med Southern Africa and members of our global team in Mauritius in June to celebrate the relaunch of our 4-trident Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers village in Grand Bay.

The relaunch was a great affair which included Club Med president Henri Giscard d’Estaing; MD of Club Med Southern Africa Olivier Hannaert; and a number of other dignitaries including the deputy prime minister of Mauritius, various Mauritian ministers, and the French ambassador to Mauritius.

While at the relaunch our guests were able to enjoy the resort, which was recently refurbished, they were able to try new experiences, and many discovered new passions. The renovations took only five months in 2018 and included creating a family pool with spirals and water arches; building a new adults-only zen pool where parents can relax while their children spend time at the Club Med Kids’ Clubs; building the new Alma Beach Lounge where GMs can enjoy late meals and snacks; and creating the new Cinq Monde spa for relaxation spa treatments.

Guests were also able to improve their skills in different disciplines, discover new passions, and bring home more than just memories…like tai chi skills, a better sense of wellbeing, and golf skills.

I used to play golf before I had my #Tribe a good 15 years ago, when I fell pregnant with uNkosinathi, I never visited the course again, and I was actually quite good! Now that they are all grown up and independent, Mommy is back doing the things that she loves and enjoys. So coming to Mauritius I knew that #ClubMedalbion has a signature golf course, I packed my old custom made Laduma @maxhosa golf gear but forgot my golf shoes, I mean who does that?, but I’m coming back to the game slowly but surely. Oksalayo bare feet and all, my put was on point. So I still got game! ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ #Live #Travel #TimeOff #ClubMedSA #DoNewThings #MommyTime #MauritiusMySecondHome

While in Mauritius our guests were also able to explore our 5-trident Club Med La Plantation d’Albion and our 5-trident Albion Villas, our other two All-Inclusive offerings in Mauritius. Guests enjoyed the full range of Club Med hospitality from our delicious meals to our included activities.

At every Club Med village worldwide, your package price includes food, drinks, accommodation, in-resort activities, entertainment, and more. Our Club Med Kids’ Clubs allow the children in the family to enjoy a range of activities with children their own age while the adults in the family can get some time alone at the adults-only areas or by trying one of the included activities available to them.

As we encourage family reconnection, we also invite families to spend time together trying out our activities. While in Mauritius, Siba Mtongana and her son learnt archery.

Maps Maponyane, who also joined us in Mauritius, brought his mother along with him. The two spent quality time reconnecting and enjoying our Club Med hospitality. His mother’s only complaint is that their time with us in Mauritius was too short.

Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers was first opened in 1973 and it was our first resort in Mauritius. It is the perfect place for a family holiday.
