We all need a break from time to time and a holiday is a great way to ensure you relax while taking time off work. Add some extra luxury to your break by staying at a Club Med Exclusive Collection resort. There are a few options available to you; choose to stay at a 5-trident resort, a villa at one of our sun destinations, or a chalet at one of our snow destinations.
Our 5-trident resorts are Club Med La Plantation d’Albion in Mauritius and Club Med Cefalú in Italy.
Located in a picturesque spot on the west coast of idyllic Mauritius, La Plantation d’Albion is one of the best places at which to enjoy a top-class holiday in the Indian Ocean.
The resort caters to couples, families, and groups with attractions for each type of holidaymaker.
There is a tailored programme with attentive carers and age-specific clubs for children from 2 years old and teenagers up to 17 years old. There are also specialised facilities for babies from 4 months old like the Baby Corner offering baby foods and equipment to prepare baby’s meals.
Freshly-made crepes are served daily by the pool in the late afternoon, there is an adults-only zen pool, and there are many water and land activities to keep you busy on days you choose not to spend the day relaxing on the beach.
Mauritius is a great holiday location for South Africans as it only takes a four-hour flight to get you from OR Tambo to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam airport. Expect an overnight flight from Cape Town with at least one stop. South Africans do not need visas to enter Mauritius.
Newly reopened and overlooking the bay of Cefalú town, Club Med Cefalú is our first 5-trident resort in Europe. Accommodation is available in a variety of room types including deluxe vialettas with stunning views of the blue-green Mediterranean. In your vialetta you will find bathrobes, slippers, beach towels, and more things to make your stay a great one. Your accommodation also includes free champagne in the private lounge after 6pm, concierge services, sporting activities, spa access, and more. Suites and superior club rooms are also available, each with a beautiful sea or garden view.
The town of Cefalú is filled with architectural and historical delights; through the resort you can book a personalised excursion like sightseeing in a Fiat 500 or a night at the opera.
Highly respected Michelin-starred Italian chef Andrea Berton created a number of the dishes on the menu of the Il Palazzo Gourmet Lounge, one of three restaurants at the resort. Another of these restaurants is La Riva Beach restaurant, offering tasty culinary delights and wonderful views of the sea. You can also live like an Italian and enjoy creamy Italian ice cream all day.
The trip from South Africa to Cefalú is a long-haul trip, with at least one stop (this being one of the quickest options). But the holiday you will have in Italy is worth it. If you choose to, you can break the trip up with a stop in one of Italy’s major cities. Our sun experts can help you plan the whole trip including flights and transfers.
You can book flights with a number of airlines including, but not limited to, South African Airways, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Alitalia, and KLM. You will require a visa to enter Italy so ensure you keep this in mind when planning your trip.
