A Turkish must-see: Ephesus, an ancient city in the Aegean region. The excavated sites in the area include buildings from the Classical Greek and Roman empires. It is also believed tat the Virgin Mary lived in Ephesus, and her house still stands there today.

Cancun, Mexico

The city of Cancun has two parts – one steeped in tradition, and the other, a cosmopolitan menagerie. It’s also incredibly beautiful. The combination of these factors makes for the perfect base from which to enjoy your honeymoon on your own terms, as there are plenty of things like scuba diving to do when you’re feeling active, as well as a number of fantastic areas to explore if you’re in the mood for little more than a stroll through the city.

Kani Island, The Maldives

The Maldives is the perfect destination for a romantic honeymoon, as it offers a number of activities for couples to do together. From sailing on a glass- bottomed kayak to hot stone massages, there are plenty of options for newlyweds to make the most of.

 

A Maldivian must-see: The technicoloured coral reefs below the crystal blue waters of the islands are something to behold. These, along with exotic marine life, can all be seen by snorkelling or scuba diving.
